Job Summary:
The Nurse Educator, in consultation and collaboration with nursing leadership and the Health -Care Team, facilitates training, education and development by assessing, planning, developing, implementation, coordination and evaluation of -projects and programs for staff, faculty, patient populations and the community. -This is accomplished to ensure role competence, compliance with regulatory standards, and to meet organizational goals. -
Responsibilities: -

• Develops and coordinates curriculum/plan utilizing principles of age-appropriate learning, and effective use of -resouces (human, material and technological) to meet assessed learning needs(i.e. required validation, new employee orientation, community and professional education).
  
• Promotes practice standards, based on appropriate research, to ensure optimal patient/population outcomes.
  
• Collaborates/partners with affiliated faculty to provide optimal learning experiences that support the organization's standards of care, and framework for professional practice.
  
• Collaborates with affiliates to facilitate training, development and education in order to ensure consistency, continuity and cost-effectiveness across the continuum.
  
• Maximizes the potential of the group/individual learner and educational programs by evaluating the effectiveness of instruction and modalities. -This is done by observing learners, testing, simulations, documentation and patient outcomes, and revising based on results.
  
• Identifies, implements, and evaluates various strategies to enhance use of research-based findings by individuals in area of responsibility.
  
• Provide clinical leadershjp to model professional practice and maintain role accountabilities at the level of RN III.
  
• Demonstrates competencies, including knowledge and behaviors, to meet age specific patient needs (e.g. Pediatrics, Adolescents, Geriatrics.).
  Qualifications Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Current Connecticut Nursing license.
    
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's Degree required (one degree must be in Nursing).
    
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in areas of assignment.
    
  • Minimum 3 years of appropriate recent experience in an acute care setting.
    
  • AHA or ARC CPR certification.
